What is PHP2Shell?

Two critical PHP vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), disclosed October 20, 2026. They let attackers run code on a web server without logging in.

Will updating WordPress or my plugins fix it?

No. The flaw is in PHP itself, which runs on your server. PHP must be updated.

How do I find my PHP version?

Check your hosting panel (cPanel, Plesk). In WordPress: Tools → Site Health → Info → Server.

My host manages my server. Am I safe?

Not necessarily. Many hosts are still patching, and older PHP versions have no official fix. We confirm the patch in writing with your host.

I am on PHP 7.4 or 8.1. What now?

These versions have no official fix. We check compatibility, then upgrade you to PHP 8.2 or newer.

Is a firewall enough?

No. A firewall reduces risk, but updating PHP is the only full fix.

Could my site already be hacked?

Possibly. Every emergency patch includes a compromise scan.

Are Shopify stores affected?
